2020 Leadership Opportunities

Sigma Tau Delta offers a number of opportunities for members to take part in the management of the Society. Participants gain firsthand information on the Society’s operations as well as play a part in the governance of and planning for Sigma Tau Delta.

Faculty and student members interested in expanding their Sigma Tau Delta experience beyond the chapter level are encouraged to volunteer for leadership opportunities at the Society’s regional and international levels.

Candidates for all open positions are required to attend the 2020 International Convention in Las Vegas, NV, March 25-28, 2020.

Board of Directors: Officers and Regents

Applications are due March 2, 2020.

Vice President/President-Elect

Two-year term, 2020-2022, with subsequent service as the Society President (2022-2024), followed by a two-year term as Immediate Past President (2024-2026).

Regent Position Duties

Officer and Regent Application

Officer and Regent applicants, at the time of election, must be a Faculty Advisor of an active Sigma Tau Delta chapter. Regent applicants must be located within the region they seek to represent.

Candidates for all these positions should plan to attend the 2020 International Convention in Las Vegas, March 25-28, 2020. Candidates for the Vice President/President-Elect and the Secretary/Treasurer positions will have the opportunity to make a brief presentation to the voting constituents at the Business Meeting. Candidates for the Regent positions will have the opportunity to make brief presentations at their Regional Caucuses prior to the election.

Student Advisor Duties

Student Advisor applicants must be Sigma Tau Delta members at a school with an active chapter and must plan on attending a school with an active chapter through May 2022.

Candidates for the Student Advisor position will be interviewed and appointed by the Board of Directors. Individuals will assume their offices at the end of the 2020 International Convention.

Student Representative Duties

Associate Student Representative Duties

Student Representative/Associate Representative Application

Student Representative applicants must be Sigma Tau Delta members at a school with an active chapter and must plan on attending a school with an active chapter through the end of their elected one-year term, 2020-2021.

Candidates for the Student Representative (SR) and Associate Student Representative (ASR) will be elected at their regional caucus on March 27, 2020. Individuals will assume their offices at the end of the 2020 International Convention.

Alumni Representative Position

Application deadline is March 2, 2020.

Alumni Representative Application

The Alumni Representative position is a two-year term, 2020-2022. Alumni Representative applicants must be a member of the Alumni Epsilon Chapter and plan to attend the 2020 Convention in order to be considered for the position.

Candidates for the Alumni Representative (AR) position will be interviewed and appointed by the Board of Directors. Individuals will assume their offices at the end of the 2020 International Convention.
