Joint project grants are designed to encourage local chapters of Sigma Tau Delta (colleges and universities) and National English Honor Society (high schools) to join together to develop innovative projects that further the shared goals of both organizations. Grants for up to $200 ($100 for each participating chapter) will be available for use in a community literacy project. The project must involve BOTH an existing Sigma Tau Delta chapter and an existing National English Honor Society (NEHS) chapter. Jointly, the two chapters will agree on a project that impacts positively their common community.

Chapters also might explore separately the possibility of procuring additional funding from regular Project Grants available from Sigma Tau Delta and NEHS, as well as seeking funds from other sources to augment joint project resources. Funds may be requested for ongoing projects, but there is no guarantee that projects funded during one grant period will receive funding in future grant periods.

Eligibility

Any active chapter is eligible to apply for a Joint Project Grant as long as another society partner, Sigma Tau Delta or NEHS, is secured. Chapter members or Sponsors/Advisors should check the chapter directories of Sigma Tau Delta and NEHS to determine which chapters exist in the immediate geographic region. Identify potential partners and contact the Chapter Sponsor(s)/Chapter Advisors to propose a joint project. For project ideas, search the Noteworthy Activities databases of Sigma Tau Delta and NEHS.
