Frequently Asked Questions

The Countdown Begins. . .

2/10/12 - Time is ticking. The weeks will soon become only days, until you can divide the days easily into hours. Mardi Gras will come and go, rubbing your face in the fact that the charms of the Crescent City are mere hours away. Then the hours will count down, and the next thing you know you'll be walking on Canal Street in front of the Marriott.

But if filling those days (all 19 of them, as of this posting) will be a chore or, worse, a vain attempt to forget that New Orleans and the 2012 Convention wait at the end of them, can I suggest reveling in the fact instead? And while you're doing that dance of joy, set aside a few steps for learning more about New Orleans and the convention.

This website is but one door for exploring New Orleans. As you work your way through the newly-posted program and the links down the left side of this page, you will find suggestions for restaurants, helpful hints for navigating around the city, and advice for preparing for your presentation and convention experience.

And if you happen to have a chance to search the schedule for all of your colleagues at your school, and you use your knowledge for good—crafting an itinerary, making reservations for that special dinner out on the town—well, you can use those last few hours before convention basking in the glow of your chapter's adoration.
