Regents Application
Board leadership is integral to the continued success of Sigma Tau Delta, providing opportunities for service to the profession and to network with peers across the country. The Board of Directors consists of an Executive Committee (President, Vice President, Past President, Secretary/Treasurer, and Officer at Large) and a group of six Regents.
Regents serve a four-year term and may be re-elected to a second four-year term. There is one Regent for each of the Society's six Regions: Eastern, Far Western, High Plains, Midwestern, Southern, and Southwestern. Position duties include promoting the development and activities of the Society within their specific regions. As members of the Board of Directors, Regents serve on standing and ad hoc committees, act as liaisons between the chapters of their regions and the Central Office, and work with their Student Representative (SR) and Associate Student Representative (ASR) to encourage chapter development and activities.
The standing committees (Communications, Convention, Regents, Scholarships & Academic Awards, Service & Partnerships, Strategic Planning) are responsible for distributing awards and funding support of different kinds, planning the convention, setting policy, and creating professional opportunities for students and Advisors.
If you have additional questions about serving on the Board of Directors as a Regent, contact your current Regent. See our Chapter directory to identify your region.
