Use Sigma Tau Delta’s Society hashtag, #EnglishHonor, to follow Society postings and when you post about your own chapter events and activities across social media. During convention time, look for our convention hashtag, which follows the pattern #yearEngCon (ex. #26engcon).

Policy for the Use of Sigma Tau Delta’s Name on Social Media
As a general rule, Sigma Tau Delta follows Northern Illinois University’s social media policies. Your name and/or handle on any of your chapter social media accounts may include Sigma Tau Delta; however, it must be clear that your account represents an individual chapter, not the organization as a whole. Additionally, we encourage you to follow the Sigma Tau Delta Editorial Style Guide when posting on social media. In that vein, we ask you not to use the acronym STD in either your account name or in posts.

WORDY by Nature Blog
WORDY by Nature, the official blog of Sigma Tau Delta, serves as a platform for in-depth conversation and exploration of ideas related to Society life. Written by Deltans, for Deltans, WORDY by Nature spotlights noteworthy activities and accomplishments by chapters and individual members, provides advice and insights from Sigma Tau Delta leadership, and offers each chapter and region an opportunity to showcase the unique literary landscape of their corner of the world.
The official Sigma Tau Delta Facebook page provides a timely and convenient way to share information and facilitate communication among chapters. All blog posts, Footnotes newsletters, and other important announcements appear on the Facebook page. Additional features include relevant links, Society events, and pictures and video of chapters in action.
Sigma Tau Delta also maintains an Alumni Facebook Group to allow alumni members to remain connected with the Society and network with each other after graduation. The group is a great place for members to find advice, fellowship, and new friends.

In addition to images pertaining to the field of English, Sigma Tau Delta’s Instagram feed visually provides information on Society deadlines and opportunities, as well as highlighting our WORDY by Nature blog and other key Society announcements. Sigma Tau Delta also maintains regional Instagram accounts managed by our Student Leaders featuring a mix of regional opportunities and items of interest as well as reminders about Society-wide opportunities.
