Student Leadership Award

Award Cycle: Spring

The Student Leadership Award is presented to students for outstanding service to Sigma Tau Delta at the chapter level. Nominees for the award will demonstrate their individual commitment to the ideals of Sigma Tau Delta and their ability to promote those ideals through a leadership role in their local chapters.

Students and Advisors are invited to submit nominations. No student may receive this award more than once. The recipient of the award will receive a check for $250 and a plaque.

Eligibility

  1. The student nominee must be a current member in good standing of Sigma Tau Delta, or have been a member in good standing within the past six months. Members who graduated in the previous fall term or who will graduate in spring or summer are eligible for the award.
  2. Alumni members who graduated more than six months ago are not eligible for this award.
  3. The student must not have received the award previously.
  4. The student must be nominated by a Chapter Advisor or by a member in good standing from their chapter.

Judging of the Nominees

  1. The Central Office will verify active chapter and member status.
  2. Judges will be non-student members of the Service Committee.
  3. Those students not selected for the award are eligible for nomination in subsequent years of service through a new nomination.
  4. The winner of the award will be announced on the Sigma Tau Delta website and at the next annual convention.
