Avery served on the editorial board for school publications, worked in the campus writing center, and also received a Community Service Internship Stipend through Sigma Tau Delta in 2022—read about Avery’s experience interning for the Steuben County Community Foundation. Avery currently works as a consultant for Scholarship America and supports efforts to eliminate financial barriers to educational attainment. She currently lives in Indiana (but is very proudly from Kentucky!) with her spouse and pet frog, Mirtilo.
Avery is excited to assume the role of Alumni Representative and shares the following message:
Hi Everyone!
I am delighted to have the opportunity to serve each of you as an Alumni Representative over the next two years. It is a privilege to be able to support an organization that does so much work to foster the love of the English language and literacy.
I look forward to working alongside each of you, at both a local and national level, to make your experience something both meaningful and impactful. There is so much to build on from previous Alumni Representatives that I know the next two years will be full of opportunities for growth and expansion.
Best,
Avery
Alumni Suggestion Box
In an effort to better serve alumni and take into consideration the needs of all alumni, we have implemented an Alumni Suggestion Box. This should be used to submit questions, comments, concerns, and suggestions for what you’d like to see happening with alumni within the Society. Please submit and the Alumni Representatives will work with the Central Office and Board of Directors do what is within their power to address the suggestion.

Discord
In an effort to further extend the alumni community and to promote networking and conversation, we have created a Sigma Tau Delta Discord. We encourage recent and upcoming graduates to join our server and begin building community for benefits such as job-searching, talent-swapping, community-building, and fun!

Facebook Alumni Group
Sigma Tau Delta also maintains an Alumni Facebook Group to allow alumni members to remain connected with the Society and network with each other after graduation. The group is a great place for members to find advice, fellowship, and new friends.
Sigma Tau Delta’s LinkedIn page is the ideal place for Deltans interested in professional networking. Members can check English-related job listings, connect with Deltans who share similar professional interests, and get advice about job hunting and professional development from active alumni.
