Sigma Tau Delta 2026 Journals Now Available

Sigma Tau Delta is excited to announce the release of our 2026 electronic journals. The 2026 Sigma Tau Delta Review and Rectangle are now available for free to all of our members. 2026 marks the sixth year in which we are exclusively offering our journal electronically. Prior to 2021 a select number of copies of the print journals were shipped to each chapter in the United States, with additional copies available for purchase. Since 2009 we have offered a PDF file of the journals as well. In our new shift to an electronic journal we have expanded downloadable options to include an Epub file, allowing you now to enjoy reading our journals on your e-reader of choice. For the first time since 2018 we have separated the Sigma Tau Delta Rectangle and the Sigma Tau Delta Review back into two independent publications.

The e-reader-friendly versions of the 2026 Sigma Tau Delta Journals can be claimed for free through Prolific Works, a free platform for sharing e-books—you will need to create a simple, free account to claim books through Prolific Works. Once you’ve followed the link to the 2026 Rectangle or the 2026 Review simply “claim” the book.

After claiming your book the journal will be added to your Prolific Works library where you will be prompted to get your copy. Before clicking “Get my Book” you will need to know what file type your e-reader requires. Epub files are compatible with Kindle, Nook, Google Play Books, and iBooks. A PDF file is also included to be used with any other device. (Amazon has recently transitioned from Mobi files to Epub. Existing Mobi files on your device will continue to be accessible; however, you will not be able to download new Mobi files. As such, we now only offer Epub and PDF files of our journal.) You will then have the choice to either download the file to your computer or send it via email. Once you have saved your preferred file type, you simply need to follow your e-reader’s instructions for uploading files. (Tips for transferring files to popular e-reader devices are linked at the bottom of this page.)

Enjoy reading the best creative writing and criticism from undergraduate and graduate active chapter members of the Sigma Tau Delta English Honor Society!

Sigma Tau Delta Journals

Annually, Sigma Tau Delta publishes two journals to distribute the best writing and criticism produced by active members of the Society.

Undergraduate and graduate students who are enrolled through the spring semester and are members of active Sigma Tau Delta chapters are invited to submit their work to the Sigma Tau Delta Review and the Sigma Tau Delta Rectangle. Chapter Advisors, faculty members, alumni, and honorary members are not eligible to submit.

Sigma Tau Delta Rectangle (founded in 1931) is an annual journal of creative writing—fiction, nonfiction, and poetry. Submissions should not exceed 2,500 words. Members whose works are published also may participate in a reading at the annual Sigma Tau Delta convention.

Sigma Tau Delta Review (founded in 2005) is an annual journal that publishes critical essays on literature and rhetoric/composition and essays devoted to pedagogical topics. Submissions should not exceed 3,000 words, excluding notes and works cited. Critical essays follow the style guidelines as defined in the MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers (latest edition).

Submissions for the 2027 Sigma Tau Delta Journals were accepted during the Spring Awards Cycle, which closed on April 13, 2026.
