Lambda Literary Internships

Sigma Tau Delta has developed a wonderful partnership with Lambda Literary. We are excited to announce a unique opportunity for LGBTQ+* members of the Sigma Tau Delta community to intern with Lambda, the nation’s leading LGBTQ+ literary organization. The Program Interns will work with the prestigious Lambda Literary Awards (Lammys) or Writers Retreat remotely for 15 hours per week. These internships are ideal for individuals passionate about LGBTQ+ literature and eager to gain experience in program management, communications, and event planning.

*Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer or Questioning, and all emerging identities.

Eligibility

Applicants must be an active student or alumni member of Sigma Tau Delta.

Submission Deadline

Applications will be open through the AwardSpring Application platform during the Winter Awards Cycle, January 12 – February 2, 2026. Sigma Tau Delta will forward application materials for eligible candidates to Lambda Literary. Lambda Literary staff will contact the candidates for interviews. The final internship offers will be made by Lambda Literary.

Required Materials

1. Cover Letter that addresses the following:

  • why you are interested in this opportunity;
  • how it fits into your long-term education and career goals;
  • any relevant work or volunteer experience; and
  • provides any other information pertinent to the role description.

2. Essay Questions

  • Describe how your membership of Sigma Tau Delta has prepared you to undertake the Lambda Literary internship. Please refer to the internship brief for more details of the role. (max. 250 words).
  • Describe how working for Lambda Literary aligns with your personal/career goals. (max. 250 words)

3. Resume/CV (including 2-3 references)

Stipend Award

Sigma Tau Delta priority members who are awarded an internship with Lambda Literary will receive a $750 stipend from Sigma Tau Delta.
